Winter 2008 Class Schedule
One Night Basics $32 Jan. 16 (Wed.) 6-8 PM Lydia Feb. 7 (Thurs.) 6-8 PM Lydia Mar. 11 (Tues.) 6-8 PM Shoshana Designed for beginners, this one-night class will teach you the basics to make a simple scarf. You will learn to cast on, knit, and bind off on your very own project. Basic materials included, though any fun embellishments welcome!	Beginning Crochet $35/ $50 for both Jan. 14 - 15 (Mon.- Tues.) 6-8 PM Janie March 3 - 4 (Mon. - Tues.) 6-8 PM Janie A new two-night series sure to hook you in! On the first night, learn the basic crochet stiches; on the second, take your new skills further and make a beanie super quick! Class is designed for beginners to take both nights, or if you have more experience, just come the second night. Materials included.
Beginner Knitting $90 Jan. 21- Feb. 11 (Mon.) 6-8 PM Shoshana Mar. 6-27 (Thurs.) 6-8 PM Rebecca The perfect class for beginners to learn to knit, purl, read directions, and finish projects. In four weeks, make warm wool mittens. They make great gifts and after this class you will have the skills to tackle almost anything! Materials included.	Adventures in Sockes $40 Feb. 21-22 (Thurs.-Fri.) 6-8 PM Rebecca Learn a new form of sock knitting! In this class, knitters will learn to knit a baby sock on your choice of needles: double points or two circulars. Feeling adventurous? Learn both! Materials not included; cost depends on yarn & needles you choose.
Stich Series $65 all/ $20 each Jan. 23-Feb. 13 (Wed.) 6-8 PM Learn all sorts of fun new things! Jan. 23: Skill: cables. The possibilities are endless when you learn the basics of cables. Amy Jan. 30: Skill: short rows. Learn short row stitches and make a fabulous ruffled scarf! Lisa Feb. 6: Skill: lace. Learn lovely lace with Lisa! Lisa Feb. 13: Skill: fixing. Impress all of your friends! Fix your own mistakes! Fix theirs! Lydia Due to the nature of the series, materials are not included.	One Night Hat Class $55 Jan. 31 (Thurs) 6-8 PM Shoshana Feb. 25 (Mon.) 6-8 PM Shoshana Mar. 25 (Tues.) 6-8 PM Lydia This class teaches you how to knit with double-pointed needles and circular needles. You will finish a thick, cozy hat in this one-night class! Materials included.
Top-Down Sweater Series $80 Feb. 20,27 & Mar. 12,19 (Wed.) 6-8 PM Dawn Learn another sweater style with Dawn as she helps with knitting a seamless raglan sweater in the round. Materials not included, cost depends on the yarn you chose.	Felted Clogs $60 Jan. 17, 18, & 20 (Thurs., Fri., & Sun.) 6-8 PM Rebecca Intermediate knitters. Impress your friends & family with warm, felted wool clogs everyone will want! In three nights, you will learn special techniques like M1 and W&T that are commonly used in felted patterns. You will complete the knitting of your cloges, and then throw them in the washer for finishing. Materials not included; they should cost around $35.
Granny Squares $30 Feb. 12 & 19 (Tues.) 6-7:30 PM Janie Learn to crochet granny squares and put them all together to create a unique scarf, bag, or afghan. On the first night, learn to make the squares. Have a week to add to the pile, and on the second night piece your project together! A great way to use that stash of scrap yarn that has been hanging around! Materials not included.	Sunday Workshops! Back by popular demand! Felted Bag Class $40 Jan. 27, Feb. 10 (Sun. ) 3-5 PM Dawn Succomb to the latest craze and make your own fabulous felted bag! Pick up stitches, learn I-cord, and felting techniques. Materials not included, but should cost around $35. * See staff for pre-class prep!
Knitting Nights! FREE Jan. 8 & 24, Feb. 14 & 26, Mar. 7 & 18 6-8 PM Danielle Come stich & bitch with your fellow Jackson knitters! Bring your present project, snacks, wine, whatever, and we'll knit the evening away. No instruction, no cost, but we ask for food or toiletry donations to be given to the Community Safety Network. Shop will close at 6:30 PM if there is a lack of attendance.
